Explore Resources for
Intercessors

Intercessors are passionate about supporting the BAM movement through prayer and intercession. BAM intercessors lay a vital foundation in prayer for everything else that happens in business as mission globally.

The Bible reminds us again and again that life and fruitfulness comes from a place of prayer and abiding in God. Those interceding for business as mission create rhythms of prayer, whether alone or gathered, listening for the voice of the Lord and lifting up BAM practitioners, companies, and the movement.

4. Start Praying with Friends or Colleagues

Gather a small group of like-minded people in your vicinity, or virtually, for regular times of prayer and intercession for business as mission and related topics. Ask God for His Kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven… through business and in your workplace.

1. Start with Strong Biblical Foundations for BAM

Dallas Willard once said, “Business is a primary moving force of the love of God in human history”—however, Christians often don’t think about business that way. Whether our thinking about business has been moulded by secular ideas, or from our church heritage, it’s good to evaluate and intentionally develop a biblical worldview of work, business and the economic sphere as a solid foundation for intercession in these areas. We recommend reading blogs on Biblical Foundations and Breaking the Sacred-Secular Divide, the white paper Biblical Foundations for Business as Mission, and the book Business for the Glory of God.

2. Learn More About the BAM Concept

Although business and mission have been integrated from the time of the early church, the contemporary BAM movement has been coming together and growing since the late 1990s, with early pioneers in the decades before that. Get more of an idea for how to pray for business as mission from a generation practice and experience. We recommend knowing your BAM A-Z, exploring blogs on BAM101: Introduction and Integration & Impact topics, and diving deeper into BAM Think Tank papers that interest you.

3. Discover BAM Stories

Stories help bring the concept of BAM to life and give more impetus for prayer. Explore Stories on the Blog or attend a BAM-related event where case studies will be shared. Join the BAM Prayer Team by subscribing for updates and hear prayer requests from business as mission initiatives.
